Analisis Penggunaan “Simple Present Tense” dengan Menggunakan Metode Drilling

Abstract

Penelitian ini  bertujuan  untuk  mengetahui  tingkat  kemampuan  siswa  dalam belajar "Simple Present Tense". Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini meliputi subjek, kata kerja, kata kerja bantu sederhana sekarang "do" dan "be", kalimat verbal  dan  kalimat  nominal  yang  terkandung  dalam  paragraf  dan  kegiatan sehari-hari. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi kelas, wawancara, catatan, dan post-test. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam satu siklus yang terdiri dari satu pertemuan selama tiga jam pelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Simple Present Tense dalam teks sederhana tulis maupun lisan ditemukan ketidak fokusan peserta didik dalam mempelajari tenses tersebut. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan sekitar 71% yang masih belum memahami Simple Present Tense khususnya pada rumus dalam menulis teks sederhana lisan maupun tulis
