Benefit published its first edition in 2004 as a compilation of papers written by lecturers in Economic Faculty, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Along the way, Benefit underwent a name revision, adding "Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis" to its name to indicate its focus in management and business.
Currently, Benefit: Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis possess both its ISSN as well as E-ISSN and have been accredited by DOAJ, Sinta and Google Scholar.
