PENGARUH POSISI REKOMBINASI TERHADAP KINERJA SEPARATOR GLCC METERING LOOP

Abstract
Industri perminyakan telah menunjukkan ketertarikannya mempergunakan
separator siklon silinder vertikal (gas-liquid cylindrical cyclone) atau lebih
dikenal separator GLCC. Berkaitan dengan separator GLCC, tulisan ini mengkaji
mengenai efek posisi titik rekombinasi terhadap karakteristik GLCC metering
loop. Diharapkan dari kajian ini akan memberikan informasi dalam desain
GLLC. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental dengan membuat spesimen
skala laboratorium. GLCC metering loop memiliki sistem masukan tunggal,
diameter 7,62cm dan tinggi 150cm. Pada spesimen uji dilengkapi enam variasi
posisi rekombinasi yang posisinya dari bidang inlet berturut-turut dari atas
(H=80, 60, 40, 20, 0, and –20cm). Fluida yang dipisahkan diasumsikan terdiri
dari komponen udara-air. Hasil penelitian yang diukur pada tekanan kerja di
ruang pencampur 0 kg/cm
2
(G) dan temperatur 27~30
0
C, menunjukkan bahwa
level cairan kesetimbangan(L
) akan meningkat seiring dengan kenaikan posisi
rekombinasi. Dalam kondisi yang lain, yakni dengan mempertahankan level di
sekitar inlet (rata-rata 85cm) maka makin rendah posisi rekombinasi
produktivitas separator meningkat.
