Indigenous was published for the first time in 1995 known as Jurnal Kognisi. Indigenous publish twice a year in Mei and November.  The change of name occurred a change of mission and vision in psychology faculty, so the name of journals was change to be INDIGENOUS since 2007. In 2011-2014 unfortunately INDIGENOUS not publish new issue, because of turnover editorial team. In 2015 INDIGENOUS has new spirit to move on and also INDIGENOUS has an e-ISSN in 2016, so INDIGENOUS start in new volume.
