Editorial Policies

Focus and Scope

Kajian Linguistik dan Sastra journal research-based articles on language studies, literature studies, and language teaching. We invite experts in these fields of knowledge to share their ideas and findings through publish articles in our journal. 

Every article submitted to this journal should follow the review process admitted by the editorial board. Meeting the author's guideline is the first step to review submitted articles in this journal. This journal involves double blind review process before the article is published. Thus, authors' responsiveness to the revew process is also expected as it is a potent aspect of editorial process. 

Our focus:

Language studies, covering sociolinguistics, psycolinguistics, translation, lexicography, comparative linguistics, computational linguistics, and anthropological linguistics.

Literature studies: clasical literature, contemporary literature, travel literature, philology, ethnic liteature, and teenage liteature.

Language teaching: methods in language teaching, teaching media development, teaching of Indonesian for foreign learners, and development of language teaching materials.

Peer Review Process

To maintain high quality standards in our publication, every manuscript we receive goes through a review process, carried out as follows.

  1. Author(s) send their manuscript through the journal's online system.
  2. The Editor in Chief checks the properness of the manuscript and sees the possibility of publishing the submitted manuscript. The editor in chief will send proper manuscripts to editors. Inappropriate manuscripts will be rejected
  3. The editors check whether the manuscripts fit the template and in accordance to the writing guidelines that have been determined in the Kajian Linguistik dan Sastra (KLS) journal. The editors also review the originality of the manuscript though similarity check and the adequacy of references in the manuscript.
  4. Reviews related to similarity index (plagiarism) are carried out using Turnitin with the condition that the maximum similarity is 30%.
  5. Manuscripts that have met the requirements and are in accordance with the format are then submitted to two reviewers in a double blind review. In this case, the reviewers do not know the identity of the author(s). Reviewers can play a role on the editorial board and can also be invited as guest reviewers. The manuscripts that do not fit the format and the requirements are then returned to the author for correction.
  6. The author(s) will receive a review decision within 4 to 16 weeks
  7. The editors will notify the author(s) whether the manuscript needs more correction, will be published without revision, or is rejected by referring to the reviewer's recommendation.
  8. Manuscripts that meet the requirements are then submitted to the editorial department for final editing and layout to fulfill the publishing requirements.
  9. Articles are published in the form of online publications through the KLS online journal system.
  10. Editors and reviewers will not disclose any information related to the articles processed in the KLS journal

 

Publication Frequency

Kajian Linguistik dan Sastra journal is issued in June and December each year.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
