Author Guidelines
PHARMACON encourages research articles, survey, and literature study on all pharmaceutical aspects including Technology of Formulations, Excipients Optimization, Extract and Herbal Standardizations, Pharmacological activity determination on natural sources, Drug Synthesis and Development, Molecular Biology, Antibiotic Screening, Metabolite Profiling, and Quantification, Clinical Pharmacy, Health, and Environmental issues. Hence, Pharmacon covers practically all areas of pharmaceutical research and would be systematically arranged into the following frameworks:
Full papers that will include:
- Research Title
- Abstract
- Introduction
- Research Methodology
- Result and Discussion
- Conclusion
- Suggestion (optional)
- Acknowledgments
- References

Conditions:
The accuracy and factuality of the data presented are the authors’ responsibility. Authors must acknowledge and acquire any authorization needed for publication. The Editorial Boards would not intervene with any issue regarding the regulation of the research conducted or the data shown. Manuscripts must contain original unpublished work and should be submitted exclusively to the Pharmacon (Pharmaceutical Journal of Indonesia). Publication of the manuscripts is based on the content of the research on a particular category. The antibacterial activity determination on natural resources is now so routine that papers reporting one or two new samples are rarely accepted unless other information such as the metabolite profiling or the quantitative analysis of particular metabolites is included. The publication of known compounds with potential bioactivity or detailed spectroscopic investigations will be preferred. Optimization of formulation in pharmaceutical preparations and its activity test in vitro or in vivo will also be considered.
Preparation of manuscripts:
In order to avoid diversity in presentation layouts which lead to technical difficulties, all authors are advised to observe the following guidelines.
Writing Guidelines
Authors are expected to use the writing guidelines for the preparation of manuscripts. The guidelines are intended to ease manuscript preparation and submission. The manuscript is written in Bahasa Indonesia and/or English and should be typed in these following outlines:
1. Title
Title must be written in Capital Each Word, clearly and concisely.
2. Author names and affiliations
Author names are typed below the title without a degree, followed by the address of the institutions.
3. Abstract
The abstract is written in both Bahasa Indonesia and English maximum of 250 words.
4. Keywords
Keywords are provided to identify substantial subjects in the manuscript approximately in the 3-6 word or phrases.
5. The introduction consists of:
a. Background
b. Literature review and fundamental theory
c. Aim
6. Research Methodology consists of:
a. Materials
b. Experimental
7. Result and Discussion
8. Conclusion
9. Suggestion (optional)
10. Acknowledgments
11. References
Use the references manager, for example, Mendeley, Zotero, Endnote (Harvard style).
Technical rules:
- Abstract and manuscript should be written neatly in a single space on relatively 10 pages (borders: up= 2,5 cm; bottom= 3 cm; left and right= 2,5 cm).
- Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text but should be included at the end of the manuscript on separate pages. Tables should be created with a word processor and cited consecutively in the text. Captions/legends will be placed below figures and adjusted to 10 font size.
- The table should not be split into 2 pages or more. The title is written above the table in bold letters and should be numbered sequentially.
- Images, including graphics, should be printed on separate paper in full page size or in ¼ page size at a minimum in the best resolution. Information or explanation about the images and graphics should be placed neatly below the object and numbered sequentially. Pictures/photographs must be in high definition standard with the title/ explanation in the backside.
- References cited in the manuscript must be followed by the author’s last name and the year of its publication. In case the authors of the cited references are more than two people, it should be written with ‘dkk.’ (in Bahasa Indonesia) or ‘et al.’ then followed by the year.
- References/ bibliography are listed alphabetically.
Corrections:
Manuscripts accepted will be corrected and sent back to the authors for revision.
