PELATIHAN TELAAH BUKU TEKS BAGI GURU BAHASA INDONESIA DI SMP MUHAMMADIYAH SURAKARTA

Abstract

Guru Bahasa Indonesia SMP Muhammadiyah di Surakarta memiliki permasalahan dalam menentukan pilihan penggunaan buku teks Bahasa Indonesia. Pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan pada bulan April 2019 di SMP Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Peserta pengabdian adalah guru mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Pelaksanaan pelatihan dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan, yaitu menurunkan teori Geeny dan Petty yang merupakan indikator kualitas buku teks ke dalam beberapa instrumen. Selanjutnya, guru berlatih mengisi instrumen sesuai dengan isi buku teks. Setelah itu, guru membuat tabulasi, dan langkah terakhit mengidentifikasi bagian buku teks yang masih lemah. Pelatihan penelaahan buku teks dengan menggunakan teori Geeny dan Petty efektif. Telaah buku teks berdasarkan teori Geeny dan Petty terdiri dari sudut pandang sesuai dengan keilmuan, memiliki kejelasan, konsep materi, relevan dengan kurikulum, menarik minat, menumbuhkan motivasi, menstimulasi aktivitas siswa, ilustratif, mudah dipahami pemakainya, menunjang pelajaran lain, menghargai perbedaan individu, dan memantabkan nilai.
